Boyce says Wigan are a soft touch

EMMERSON BOYCE CLAIMS HIS STRUGGLING WIGAN SIDE ARE A SOFT TOUCH.

The Latics slumped to their fifth defeat in a row at Aston Villa on Saturday.

And right back Boyce fears they will remain in the relegation zone if they keep coughing up cheap goals.

He said: ``Performance-wise we have to do better, we need to make teams work harder to score their goals.''

Wigan have a chance to turn their form around when they face bottom club Bolton in a Lancashire derby on their next outing.

And Boyce accepts the Latics have to grab three points from their rivals to ensure they do not face a repeat of last term's fight against relegation.

He added: ``We’ve got an international break and we need to pick ourselves up ahead of Bolton in a fortnight.

``The international break has probably come at a good time for us. It gives us a chance to get away, refresh ourselves and hopefully come back stronger.

``We’ll go into the Bolton game full of confidence, and it’s a game we have to pick up something from.

``We feel we’re a better team than results have been showing, but at the end of the day the results are all that matters.

``We just need to find a way of grinding out a few results because we don’t want it to go down to the last game of the season like last year.''
