Stoke offer Sorensen new deal

Stoke have offered keeper Thomas Sorensen a new deal to try and stop him walking out in the summer.

The Dane, 35, has slipped to second choice in the past year, behind Asmir Begovic, and is a free agent in June.

But he is still highly-rated with Manchester City trying to capture him last August.

He said: ``Stoke have given me a contract offer. It is something I have to consider.''

Potters boss Tony Pulis is desperate to persuade him to stay but Sorensen may even look to quit in January to help push for a place in next summer's Euros with Denmark.

Sorensen added: ``If we have a long run in the Europe League and the FA Cup in the spring, there will be many games for me.

``But you can't be sure of that, and towards the European Championships I would like to play some games."
