Dann Reveals Extent Of Pain From Ruptured Testicle

Scott Dann has spoken for the first time about rupturing his testicle - claiming it was even more painful than it sounds!

The rock hard defender damaged his family jewels when scoring in the defeat by West Brom in December but managed to play on for the final 20 minutes.

Despite the pain the 24-year-old kept quiet about the problem post match as Blackburn came to terms with the loss to their fellow strugglers.

But as the injured swelled up, Dann was rushed to hospital later in the evening to have treatment on his battered cojones.

It was a problem that kept him out of action for a month but Dann is now back and faces Manchester City on Saturday.

He remembered: ``It was an important game against West Brom and I overstretched and clashed with the goalkeeper Ben Foster.

``I was in severe pain and couldn’t run, but I was determined to carry on despite knowing that something was badly wrong.

``Our physio Dave Fevre is very experienced and he’s never seen an injury like it before.

``And it’s even more painful than it sounds. It was not a pretty sight.''

Dann joined Blackburn from Birmingham for £7.7m in the summer and is now battling to avoid relegation for a second season in a row.

He added: ``The injury was frustrating as I wanted to be playing every week and helping keep the team up.

``We’ve been down at the bottom but we honestly think we have the players to stay up.''
