Hart Is Ready To Take On England Captaincy

Joe Hart
Joe Hart is ready to take on the England captaincy if the next national boss hands him the armband.

Keeper Hart was a candidate when Scott Parker was given the nod by Stuart Pearce for the game with Holland last month.

But when a new boss is installed, he is expected to review the situation again.

And Hart will not shirk the responsibility if he is asked to lead his country.

He said: ``Of course, I would take it if it was given to me, but there are lot more people in pole position.''

Even if he is overlooked again, Hart is determined to act as one of England's on field leaders.

The keeper added: ``I think football is the kind of sport where it doesn't really matter who is in charge - you can be a captain without being one.

``You can do your thing whether or not you have a band on your arm.''
