Martinez Refuses to Risk Moses Health

Roberto Martinez is refusing to put Victor Moses' health on the line – despite Wigan's desperate need for points at the bottom of the table.

Match winner Moses is making a slow recovery after being kicked in the face by Martin Skrtel in last week's stunning win at Liverpool.

Initial fears that the youngster has broken his jaw were dispelled by a scan and that raised hopes the winger could feature against Stoke tomorrow.

But Martinez believes throwing the youngster into the fray so soon after a head injury may be a risk that is not worth taking.

He said: ``I want to say he will play but we need to be extra careful because when you get such a strong knock in your face it could be dangerous.

``We have been advised to wait until today before we make a decision.

``At the beginning we thought he had fractured a bone in his face. The scan showed that was not the case.

``So it was got news but now we have to be careful and he is probably only 70-30 he will play.

``He has trained on his own and his intensity has been a little bit lower and now it depends on how much we can step him up in training.''
