REAL MADRID have made Tottenham star Luka Modric their No.1 target for the summer.

Fresh from winning La Liga, Jose Mourinho wants to use his position of power to add even more attacking talent.

And the Madrid boss is convinced Modric is suited to Spanish football with his vision and passing skills.

Mourinho would have to pay upwards of £35million to secure the tricky Croatian, 26, but he believes he is worth the big fee.

And with the chance to play in a glamour side on offer, it will be hard to keep Modric in Spurs’ ranks.

He nearly moved to Chelsea last summer before chairman Daniel Levy refused to sell him to their rivals.

The ambitious midfielder wants to win trophies and, although Spurs finished in fourth spot, they still look miles away from joining the two Manchester clubs in their fight for the title.
