Birmingham are trying to hijack Huddersfield's £1m move for Birmingham striker James Vaughan.

Blues boss Lee Clark is determined to beat his former club to the one-time Everton frontman.

Huddersfield have been lining up Vaughan in case Jordan Rhodes quits for either Fulham or Blackburn - with both clubs offering upwards of £4m for the Scotland international's services.

Vaughan has failed to convince at Norwich and is no longer part of their Premier League plans.
