Cameron Jerome Is Wanted on Loan By Blackburn

Blackburn expect to sign Stoke striker Cameron Jerome on loan today.

Rovers caretaker boss Eric Black is keen to add a strong frontman to his squad ahead of tomorrow's clash with Watford.

And Potters boss Tony Pulis is happy to let the 26-year-old head to Ewood Park for three months.

Pulis said: “Blackburn have enquired about Cameron. We will see what happens in the next couple of days.

“I have spoken to Eric. He rang up to enquire about him.

“It would be a three-month loan with a recall available after 28 days.

“I would be a good one Cameron. He is the kind of player that needs game time.”

Jerome joined Stoke from Birmingham for £4m in August 2011 but has never been given a run of games.

Blackburn are looking for a powerful striker to take some of the workload off £8m signing Jordan Rhodes.

Black recently complained he was asking the former Huddersfield frontman to spend too much time working the channels rather than getting into the box.

Colin Kazim-Richards has been filling the role of Rhodes' partner in recent weeks but is still finding his feet following injury.

And Black wants an alternative option in his squad to fire Blackburn back into the thick of the promotion race.
