Jay Spearing Wants End to Bolton's Dodgy Defending

Jay SpearingJay Spearing is calling on Bolton's dodgy defence not to hand Wolves a head start tonight.

The managerless Trotters had to overhaul a 2-0 deficit to beat Bristol City on Saturday and loan star Spearing is not keen on having to launch another comeback.

He said: "Obviously the key thing now is to make sure we don't give away a two-goal start against Wolves.

"I'm sure we'll work hard and look at what was done wrong against Bristol City and where we need to put it right.

"We all want that clean sheet but most important is that we play the football we have been doing."

Spearing reckons Bolton's players are a tighter unit since the sacking of former boss Owen Coyle.

He added: "We've been under-performing, and we've been getting on each other's back about it.

"But since the new people came in we've really got it sorted.

"We said to each other 'listen boys, we need to look after each other and support each other' and I think it showed against Bristol City because we helped each other out.

"Touch-wood this is the start of something good."
