Michail Antonio's Stunning Strike Frustrates Charlie Austin

Michail Antonio's wonder goal finally ended Sheffield Wednesday's horror run and frustrated Burnley's hat-trick hero Charlie Austin.

Antonio bent a sensational strike past Lee Grant from 25-yards just seconds after Austin had thumped in his third in this 3-3 draw.

That strike took the Clarets star's tally this season to remarkable 14 goals in 11 games and threatened to condemn the Owls to a SEVENTH defeat on the bounce.

But Antonio salvaged a point in the 85th minute and Dave Jones said:“He picked his spot with great aplomb.

“To come back and keep scrapping was good. I can't fault my players, they were absolutely superb. We deserved to win it.”

Kieran Trippier
Austin's first two goals came from Kieran Trippier (pictured right) crosses with the striker's predatory skills evident as he buried powerful headers.

But Burnley could not keep their noses in front. Every time they went ahead, Jones' men bounced back.

Chris O'Grady cancelled out the first within 60 seconds by converting Antonio's cross and then slotted home from Jay Bothroyd's pass to level again.

Austin smashed home his third from the edge of the box before Antonio's magical effort sealed the draw.

Howe said: “I am hugely frustrated and hugely disappointed. Charlie scored a great third goal and I thought that was it. It wasn't to be.”
