Barry Robson To Sign For Sheffield United

Sheffield United boss Danny Wilson is bringing former Celtic star Barry Robson back to the England.

Robson, 34, is available on a free transfer having left MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps.

Wilson is ready to pay Robson's wages having sold Nick Blackman to Reading in a £1.2m deal.

Robson joined the Whitecaps in June 2012 from Middlesbrough but failed to settle.

Whitecaps FC president Bob Lenarduzzi said: "We are thankful for the contributions Barry made during his time with the club.

"Unfortunately Barry and his family never fully settled in Vancouver, and we’ve mutually decided to move in different directions.

Vancouver are signing attacking midfielder Daigo Kobayashi to replace Robson.
