Nick Blackman A Target for Reading

Reading are lining up a £1.2m bid for Sheffield United striker Nick Blackman.

Hitman Blackman, 23, rejected a switch to Crystal Palace last week after the Eagles met United's asking price.

And now the Royals are ready to swoop for the 14-goal forward.

Boss Brian McDermott struck lucky in snapping up Adam Le
Fondre from Rotherham in a bargain £300,000 deal in August 2011.

Le Fondre has scored ten goals for Reading this season and McDermott is hoping for a repeat by landing Blackman.

Blackman only joined Sheffield United in the summer having flopped at Blackburn, where he was sent out on loan four times whilst only making one Premier League appearance as a sub.
