Danny Simpson In Talks Over A Move to QPR

Queens Park Rangers crestQPR boss Harry Redknapp is signing Newcastle right-back Danny Simpson as he looks to build a promotion winning team.

Simpson will travel south for a medical today ahead of a free transfer move.

Redknapp swooped to snap up the out-of-contract star after growing frustrated by the attitude of Jose Bosingwa last term.

He claimed the Portuguese, who won the Champions League with Chelsea and Porto, had refused to sit on the bench for the clash with Fulham in December.

Now Simpson will be Redknapp’s first choice full-back next season.

The Rangers boss will be happy to finally get his team-building plans in motion after missing out on Wayne Bridge recently.

He was left fuming that his was not given the backing to grab the defender, who signed for Reading on a free transfer.
