Nemanja Vidic Reveals Manchester United's Fixture Fears

Nemanja Vidic fears Manchester United will struggle to get off to a flyer under David Moyes.

The Reds skipper knows a bad run of early results will put Moyes under immediate pressure as he attempts to prove he is a worthy successor to Sir Alex Ferguson.

But after studying the fixture list, Vidic reckons United will find it tough to top the table in the opening weeks of the campaign.

After today's Community Shield clash with Wigan, the champions face Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City in their opening five games.

And Vidic said: "When you look at the fixtures we've been given at the start of the season, I think it's the toughest games we've been given for the last seven or eight years."

He is urging his team-mates not to waste the chance to get up to speed by taking today's trip to London lightly.

He said: "We always use that game at Wembley as a real test before the season starts.

"We want to win the trophy but we know we need to be ready and prepared, and that's why it's been really good to see how focused the players are since we got back from the summer."
