Alex Baptiste Insists Quitting For Bolton Was A Good Move

Alex Baptiste has no regrets about quitting Blackpool for Bolton - despite swapping a promotion push for a relegation battle.

The defender returns to Blackpool tonight for the first time since quitting in the summer.

And while his new team are slugging it out at the bottom of the table, his old club are riding high in the table.

Baptiste said: "I have complete faith I made the right decision and we will keep going.

"I certainly didn't expect to be in this position with Bolton. We want to be challenging and it is still early doors. But we need to get out of the predicament we are in."

Despite deciding to leave Blackpool, Baptiste is not expecting any flak from the home fans.

He added: "It will be great to go back. I love all the lads and the fans were different class.

"They were the best years of my career. The highlight of my career without a shadow of doubt.

"What we achieved then will never be bettered. I had a great time and I am looking forward to going back but more importantly we need the win.

"You look at the league table and you see where we are but you want to do well as a person and want the team to do well. It's not nice to see but we have got to keep fighting.

"We are creating so many chances that one day we are going to stuff a team."
